The Flood Saga, Day 2 — Tuesday, February 10, 2026

We spent the whole day continuing to clean up. If you walked into the building, at first glance it doesn't look like much has happened... but the damage is there.

We had a visit from ServPro for an estimate on the water damage remediation that needs to be done, but we're still waiting for the final numbers.

From a strictly water damage remediation standpoint, this is the work we're looking at:

  • Our entire facility needs to be emptied out, all of our stuff stored off-site, and factory operations completely shut down for an unspecified period of time;
  • All of the carpets need to be torn out and replaced;
  • Some of our tiled flooring needs replacement;
  • Cabinetry in our bathroom needs replacement;
  • All of our drywall — throughout the entire factory — needs to be removed starting at 3' above the floor;
  • The remaining drywall surfaces and floors need to be treated with antimicrobials and subjected to intense moisture removal procedures;
  • All of the missing drywall then needs to be replaced, spackled, primed, and painted.
  • Trim and baseboard moldings will all need to be replaced
  • Some of our furnishings and displays need complete replacement

As stated above, we don't have final numbers on this process, yet. However, it is expected to be in excess of $65,000. We do have insurance, of course, but there will still be a lot of expenses above and beyond the limits of our coverage.

This cost is then amplified by having to replace equipment, supplies, ingredients, materials, computers, and having to continue to pay the expenses (rent, utilities) of the facility while it's shut down, payroll for our employees during this time, and lost sales/revenues.

The price tag just keeps growing.
